Supporting Our Community Through Tennis

At Ojos Family Eye Care, giving back is a core part of who we are—and that extends beyond the exam room and into the communities we serve.

Our Office Manager, Gus, is deeply involved with the San Antonio Tennis Association, where he currently serves as Vice President of the board. In this leadership role, he helps organize tennis tournaments throughout the city and works to expand access to the sport—especially for young players who may not otherwise have the opportunity.

The San Antonio Tennis Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and growing the game of tennis across San Antonio. Their mission centers on making tennis accessible, inclusive, and community-driven through programs, leagues, and events for players of all ages and skill levels, with a strong emphasis on youth development.

Through his volunteer efforts, Gus donates essential equipment—including tennis rackets and balls—to local tennis centers, helping remove barriers for kids who want to get involved. Beyond equipment, he plays an active role in mentorship and community-building, using tennis as a platform to foster confidence, connection, and opportunity.

“Tennis has become a passion of mine, and it’s opened the door to meaningful ways to give back. Through my work with the association, I’ve been able to build lasting relationships and help connect young players with resources that support their growth both on and off the court.”
